Mechanism:
Flocculation: The main function of Coagulants is to cause the interaction between suspended particles and colloidal particles in the water to form larger flocs. These flocs have sufficient weight and size to allow them to settle or float in water, facilitating subsequent sedimentation or filtration processing. This process is called flocculation and helps separate impurities from the water.

Application areas:
Sewage treatment: Coagulants are widely used in sewage treatment plants to remove suspended particles, colloidal substances, organic matter, etc. in the water and improve the clarity of the water.
Drinking water treatment: In drinking water treatment, Coagulants are used to purify water quality, remove suspended solids and turbid matter, and ensure that the water quality meets drinking water standards.
Industrial wastewater treatment: In industrial production, Coagulants are also often used to treat industrial wastewater and remove impurities in the wastewater to meet environmental protection requirements.

Main categories:
Metal salt Coagulants: including aluminum sulfate, aluminum chloride, iron sulfate, etc. These metal salts release metal ions in water and react with particles and colloids in the water to form flocculent groups.
Organic flocculants: including polyaluminum chloride (PAC), polyaluminum sulfate (PFS), etc. This type of organic flocculant has a high flocculation effect and can replace traditional metal salts to a certain extent.

The choice of Coagulants usually depends on factors such as water quality, treatment needs, and cost. The rational use of Coagulants can help improve water treatment efficiency, reduce suspended solids concentration, and ensure that water quality reaches specified standards.
