This product assumes the shape of white crystal or power particulate or crystalized.It is no smell or has a bit of propanoic acid flavor,and easily deliquesces in humid air,very easily dissolving in water, dissolvable in alcohol and slightly dissolvable in acetone.

Application:

[1] Used as a masking agent in leather making to improve the alkali resistance of leather and the uniformity of tanning.

[2] Sodium propionate is also an acid-type food preservative, and its antibacterial effect is affected by environmental pH. The minimum inhibitory concentration is 0.01% at pH 5.0 and 0.5% at pH 6.5. It has a strong inhibitory effect on various molds, gram-negative bacilli or aerobic bacillus in acid medium. It has a special effect on preventing the production of aflatoxin, but it is almost ineffective on yeast.

[3] In the food industry, it can be used for the preservation of cakes. The usage amount is 2.5g/kg (calculated as propionic acid, the same below); the maximum usage amount is 50g/kg in 3%~5% aqueous solution soaking bayberry. It can also be used as an antifungal agent for feed.

[4] Food, feed and antiseptic and antifungal agents. The general addition amount is 0.1-0.3%.

[5] Cosmetic preservatives. It has a wide range of antibacterial effects on molds and yeasts. The antibacterial effect is particularly obvious in acid hydrolysis. The addition amount in cosmetics is usually not more than 2%. Insecticides and antifungal agents. Determination of transaminase.
