01 / Applications and trials

Plan a trial for your application

Tire tread compounds

In one filler system, compare dynamic properties, wear and mixing behavior.

General rubber goods

At the same state of cure, compare tensile properties, fatigue and rebound.

02 / Quality and acceptance

Purchase specifications and incoming inspection

Use these properties to compare grades within the product family. Example figures refer to the cited grade or source. Confirm the offered specification, packaging and lead time in the quotation. ARLANXEO · Emulsion SBR grade example ↗

Property Unit Published or agreed specification Test conditions and checks
Bound styrene % by mass Confirm against the offered grade and purchase specification Express on the rubber polymer basis and state whether the grade is oil-extended.
Mooney viscosity MU Confirm against the offered grade and purchase specification Specify the rotor and the temperatures and times for preheating and measurement.
Extender oil content and type phr or % by mass Confirm against the offered grade and purchase specification State the basis for oil content and the composition of the grade.

When approving a sample, record the grade, methods, limits and specification revision. On receipt, match the packing lot number to the lot-specific COA and record the measured values and release decision.

03 / Packaging and delivery

From samples to commercial delivery

Packaging and receiving

Mark oil type, bale weight and whether the wrapping film can be mixed with the rubber.

Storage and handling

Use the same storage, conditioning and sampling procedure for Mooney viscosity at dispatch and receipt.

Sample and order lead times

State processing equipment, trial batch size and monthly demand. Confirm same-grade samples, first-order MOQ, staged deliveries and arrival date.

04 / Troubleshooting

Questions from the plant

Why can rubbers of the same nominal Mooney viscosity give different mixing torque?

Check oil content, polymerisation route and microstructure. Compare in the same rubber and filler formulation.

Can raw-rubber tensile data replace a finished-part requirement?

Test cured specimens at the customer’s actual formulation and state of cure.

Report a delivery or batch issue

Include the order number, lot number from the package, label photos and inspection records for the affected lot. When retesting, check Bound styrene, Mooney viscosity, Extender oil content and type.
