01 / Applications and trials

Plan a trial for your application

Extruded weatherseals

Compare die swell, surface finish, dimensional stability and cure rate.

Weather-resistant elastomer parts

Under intended exposure, evaluate tensile properties, hardness and compression set after aging.

02 / Quality and acceptance

Purchase specifications and incoming inspection

Use these properties to compare grades within the product family. Example figures refer to the cited grade or source. Confirm the offered specification, packaging and lead time in the quotation. ARLANXEO · EPDM products and applications ↗

Property Unit Published or agreed specification Test conditions and checks
Ethylene content % by mass Confirm against the offered grade and purchase specification Express on the polymer matrix basis.
Diene type and content % by mass Confirm against the offered grade and purchase specification Check the actual grade offered and the cure system.
Mooney viscosity MU Confirm against the offered grade and purchase specification Specify test temperature, rotor and oil-extension status.

When approving a sample, record the grade, methods, limits and specification revision. On receipt, match the packing lot number to the lot-specific COA and record the measured values and release decision.

03 / Packaging and delivery

From samples to commercial delivery

Packaging and receiving

Check bale net weight, wrap and oil-extension declaration. Agree feed arrangements separately for irregular granules or crumb.

Storage and handling

Record bale number at sampling. Avoid mixing visually similar grades with different diene specifications.

Sample and order lead times

State processing equipment, trial batch size and monthly demand. Confirm same-grade samples, first-order MOQ, staged deliveries and arrival date.

04 / Troubleshooting

Questions from the plant

Does equal hardness imply similar compression set?

Compare at equal cure, compression, temperature and duration.

Should an EPDM grade change trigger a new cure curve?

Check diene composition and run the same formulation. Record scorch and optimum cure times.

Report a delivery or batch issue

Include the order number, lot number from the package, label photos and inspection records for the affected lot. When retesting, check Ethylene content, Diene type and content, Mooney viscosity.
