01 / Applications and trials

Plan a trial for your application

Oil-resistant seals

Immerse in the intended oil at service temperature. Record changes in volume, hardness and strength.

Hoses and extruded parts

Evaluate the finished part at target pressure, temperature and low-temperature bend conditions.

02 / Quality and acceptance

Purchase specifications and incoming inspection

Use these properties to compare grades within the product family. Example figures refer to the cited grade or source. Confirm the offered specification, packaging and lead time in the quotation. ARLANXEO · Nitrile rubber family and applications ↗

Property Unit Published or agreed specification Test conditions and checks
Bound acrylonitrile % by mass Confirm against the offered grade and purchase specification Report on a polymer basis and state the method.
Mooney viscosity MU Confirm against the offered grade and purchase specification Report test temperature, rotor and duration.
Volume change after fluid exposure % Confirm against the offered grade and purchase specification Keep the medium, immersion time and state of cure constant.

When approving a sample, record the grade, methods, limits and specification revision. On receipt, match the packing lot number to the lot-specific COA and record the measured values and release decision.

03 / Packaging and delivery

From samples to commercial delivery

Packaging and receiving

Check NBR grade, lot and wrapping film. Powdered NBR has separate packaging requirements.

Storage and handling

Retain both uncured raw rubber and cured parts for separate processing and service-performance checks.

Sample and order lead times

State processing equipment, trial batch size and monthly demand. Confirm same-grade samples, first-order MOQ, staged deliveries and arrival date.

04 / Troubleshooting

Questions from the plant

Does “oil-resistant” cover every type of oil?

Run immersion tests with the additives, temperature and contact duration of the actual oil.

Will higher acrylonitrile content improve low-temperature performance too?

Select against a specified cold test and the oil-resistance target together. One structural parameter cannot establish both.

Report a delivery or batch issue

Include the order number, lot number from the package, label photos and inspection records for the affected lot. When retesting, check Bound acrylonitrile, Mooney viscosity, Volume change after fluid exposure.
