Repeated polymer pelletizing
Record melt flow index change and difference in yellowness after repeated extrusion.
Antioxidant blends
Test separately and in combination with the primary antioxidant, keeping processing temperature and residence time constant.
Purchase specifications and incoming inspection
Review these properties when selecting and inspecting incoming material. Example figures refer to the cited grade or source. Confirm the offered specification, packaging and lead time in the quotation. SONGWON SONGNOX 1680 · Phosphite secondary antioxidant example ↗
| Property | Unit | Published or agreed specification | Test conditions and checks |
|---|---|---|---|
| Active ingredient | % by mass | Confirm against the offered grade and purchase specification | Use the specified chromatographic method. |
| Melting range | °C | Confirm against the offered grade and purchase specification | Verify product identity and batch number. |
| Hydrolytic stability | Agreed test method | Confirm against the offered grade and purchase specification | Record temperature, humidity, duration and acceptance criteria. |
When approving a sample, record the grade, methods, limits and specification revision. On receipt, match the packing lot number to the lot-specific COA and record the measured values and release decision.
From samples to commercial delivery
Packaging and receiving
Specify granules or powder and inspect liner seals. Handle damaged packs separately.
Storage and handling
Request storage and retest instructions after opening. Compare any damp material with an original-pack sample.
Sample and order lead times
State the finished part, machine trial quantity and routine order size. Match trial and commercial grades and agree MOQ, load unit, lead-time start and arrival.
Questions from the plant
Does yellowing necessarily mean too little antioxidant?
Also check processing temperature, residence time, moisture exposure and resin lot.
Can antioxidants be priced by molecular weight alone?
Compare mechanism, active quantity and actual processing window.
Report a delivery or batch issue
Include the order number, lot number from the package, label photos and inspection records for the affected lot. When retesting, check Active ingredient, Melting range, Hydrolytic stability.
