Acceptance checks
Melt flow rate, Notched impact strength, Heat deflection temperature
Melt flow rate (g/10 min)
Confirm against the offered grade and purchase specification
01 / Applications and trials

Plan a trial for your application

Injection-molded enclosures

In the same mold, compare weld lines, surface gloss and impact resistance.

Appearance-critical parts

Compare with the target color plaque. Record heat deflection and color change after molding.

02 / Quality and acceptance

Purchase specifications and incoming inspection

Use these properties to compare grades within the product family. Example figures refer to the cited grade or source. Confirm the offered specification, packaging and lead time in the quotation. Toray TOYOLAC · ABS resin families and applications ↗

Property Unit Published or agreed specification Test conditions and checks
Melt flow rate g/10 min Confirm against the offered grade and purchase specification State temperature, load and resin condition.
Notched impact strength Method-specific Confirm against the offered grade and purchase specification State the method, specimen thickness and temperature together.
Heat deflection temperature °C Confirm against the offered grade and purchase specification Report test stress and specimen pretreatment.

When approving a sample, record the grade, methods, limits and specification revision. On receipt, match the packing lot number to the lot-specific COA and record the measured values and release decision.

03 / Packaging and delivery

From samples to commercial delivery

Packaging and receiving

Identify natural, coloured and recycled grades separately. Request pellet packaging and lot-specific colour difference records.

Storage and handling

Verify drying conditions for the grade and record moisture before feeding the machine.

Sample and order lead times

State processing equipment, trial batch size and monthly demand. Confirm same-grade samples, first-order MOQ, staged deliveries and arrival date.

04 / Troubleshooting

Questions from the plant

Can a general-purpose ABS be used for a plated part?

Test plating adhesion, surface finish and the intended post-treatment process specifically.

Can impact values reported in different units be compared?

Check Izod versus Charpy method, notch and specimen dimensions before comparing.

Report a delivery or batch issue

Include the order number, lot number from the package, label photos and inspection records for the affected lot. When retesting, check Melt flow rate, Notched impact strength, Heat deflection temperature.
