Neutralization feedstock
At the same temperature and particle size, use the customer’s method to compare time to the specified endpoint.
Magnesium oxide for rubber
Hold rubber formulation and mixing cycle constant. Compare dispersion, processing window and finished properties.
Purchase specifications and incoming inspection
Include the intended grade or current specification in the enquiry. Use the table to compare selection criteria and inspection conditions. The specification agreed by both parties defines the contractual limits. ENVO public product information · Verify against the ordered grade and lot ↗
| Property | Unit | Published or agreed specification | Test conditions and checks |
|---|---|---|---|
| Loss on ignition | Mass fraction | published granular grade ≤5.0% | Check ignition temperature, duration and weighing conditions. Verify that the test represents the activity grade offered. |
| Acid-insoluble matter | Mass fraction | ENVO published granular grade ≤0.1% | Specify acid concentration and the method for assessing the filter residue. |
| Reactivity | s or min | Establish in the agreed reaction system. | Identify the acid, endpoint and temperature. The description “high activity” alone is insufficient for comparison. |
When approving a sample, record the grade, methods, limits and specification revision. On receipt, match the packing lot number to the lot-specific COA and record the measured values and release decision.
Chemical identity
| Database entry | Molecular or composition formula | Molar mass |
|---|---|---|
| Magnesium Oxide | MgO | 40.305 g/mol |
The values refer to the compound indicated. Confirm hydrate form, solution concentration and blend composition for the commercial grade.
From samples to commercial delivery
Packaging and receiving
ENVO lists 25 kg paper bags or fibre drums. Check sealing and particle form and agree how sample packaging relates to commercial packs.
Storage and handling
Moisture uptake and time since opening affect weighing and activity comparisons. Record the condition of the retained sample seal.
Sample and order lead times
State the concentration or hydrate, initial net quantity, destination and unloading method. Confirm minimum order, pallet or truckload quantity, dispatch point and arrival date separately.
Questions from the plant
Why do grades with similar MgO assay react at different rates?
Plot the reaction against time in the same process medium.
Why can MgO assay appear higher after ignition?
Ignition changes sample mass. Request assay on the ignited basis and loss on ignition separately, then convert to a common basis.
Report a delivery or batch issue
Include the order number, lot number from the package, label photos and inspection records for the affected lot. When retesting, check reactivity test method, Particle size distribution, Loss on ignition.
