Phosphorus and nitrogen stock solutions
Check ammoniacal nitrogen and water-soluble P₂O₅. Measure filter residue at the lowest preparation temperature.
Fertigation with hard water
Test compatibility using the actual water source and calcium fertilizer. Evaluate separate tanks at stock concentration.
Purchase specifications and incoming inspection
Review these properties when selecting and inspecting incoming material. Example figures refer to the cited grade or source. Confirm the offered specification, packaging and lead time in the quotation. ICL Nova · Water-soluble fertilizer grades and nutrient basis ↗
| Property | Unit | Published or agreed specification | Test conditions and checks |
|---|---|---|---|
| Ammoniacal nitrogen | % by mass | ICL Nova MAP commercial example: 12% N. | Give separate values for total, nitrate, ammonium or amide nitrogen as applicable. Use a common as-received basis. |
| Water-soluble phosphate (as P₂O₅) | % by mass | ICL Nova MAP commercial example: 61% P₂O₅. | Identify water-soluble or total P₂O₅ and the analytical basis. Convert elemental P before comparing. |
| Water-insoluble matter | % by mass | Confirm for the proposed grade and project | Agree water temperature, sample-to-water ratio, filter medium and the drying and weighing procedure. Test compatibility separately with site water. |
When approving a sample, record the grade, methods, limits and specification revision. On receipt, match the packing lot number to the lot-specific COA and record the measured values and release decision.
From samples to commercial delivery
Packaging and receiving
Mark MAP and declare water-soluble nutrients on the bag. Screen for lumps and foreign matter on receipt.
Storage and handling
Keep the liner intact and check for crystals or filter residue at the actual stock-solution preparation temperature after storage or transit.
Sample and order lead times
State trial use, application season and latest warehouse receipt. Confirm MOQ, dispatch point and expected arrival for samples, initial orders and peak-season replenishment.
Questions from the plant
Can monoammonium and diammonium phosphate be exchanged at equal weight?
Recalculate ammonium nitrogen, phosphorus and acid–base conditions separately. Verify in the intended solution.
Why can a clear individual solution form white sediment after mixing?
Check calcium, water hardness and local stock concentration. Repeat with the actual order of addition and standing conditions.
Report a delivery or batch issue
Include the order number, lot number from the package, label photos and inspection records for the affected lot. When retesting, check Ammoniacal nitrogen, Water-soluble phosphate (as P₂O₅), Water-insoluble matter.
