Natural rubber (NR)

Product family

Specify the commercial natural rubber type, such as technically specified rubber or ribbed smoked sheet. Mooney viscosity and natural impurity limits are separate requirements.

01 / Applications and trials

Plan a trial for your application

Tires and dynamically loaded parts

Using the same batch formulation, compare mixing power, fatigue and green strength.

Rubber compound batch uniformity

Check Mooney viscosity, plasticity and impurity results across rubber bales for variation.

02 / Quality and acceptance

Purchase specifications and incoming inspection

Use these properties to compare grades within the product family. Example figures refer to the cited grade or source. Confirm the offered specification, packaging and lead time in the quotation. FGV · Natural rubber commercial grades ↗

Property Unit Published or agreed specification Test conditions and checks
Impurity content % by mass Confirm against the offered grade and purchase specification Verify against the specific technical grade and sieving method.
Plasticity retention index PRI Confirm against the offered grade and purchase specification Retest using the specified ageing conditions and method.
Mooney viscosity MU Confirm against the offered grade and purchase specification Specify the rotor, temperature and timing.

When approving a sample, record the grade, methods, limits and specification revision. On receipt, match the packing lot number to the lot-specific COA and record the measured values and release decision.

03 / Packaging and delivery

From samples to commercial delivery

Packaging and receiving

State origin, grade, net bale weight and wrapping. Do not combine different technical grades into one lot.

Storage and handling

Assess transport compression and storage effects on processing. Take samples from several bales.

Sample and order lead times

State processing equipment, trial batch size and monthly demand. Confirm same-grade samples, first-order MOQ, staged deliveries and arrival date.

04 / Troubleshooting

Questions from the plant

Can RSS and technically specified rubber use the same acceptance sheet?

Check each grading system separately, then compare the buyer’s common acceptance properties.

Does one passing bale Mooney result establish pallet uniformity?

Sample several bales under an agreed plan. Record the mean and within-lot variation.

Report a delivery or batch issue

Include the order number, lot number from the package, label photos and inspection records for the affected lot. When retesting, check Impurity content, Plasticity retention index, Mooney viscosity.
