Incoming material release
Specify pharmacopoeia and edition. Verify identity, assay and impurity profile, and specify particle size separately.
Formulation process transfer
Using the existing process, compare powder particle size, flow and finished dosage form dissolution. Distinguish plain API from direct-compression blends.
Purchase specifications and incoming inspection
Include the intended grade or current specification in the enquiry. Use the table to compare selection criteria and inspection conditions. The specification agreed by both parties defines the contractual limits. USP · Cited acetaminophen API monograph ↗
| Property | Unit | Published or agreed specification | Test conditions and checks |
|---|---|---|---|
| Assay | % on a dry basis | Cited USP monograph example: 98.0–102.0%. | This is a drug-substance monograph definition. Identify the applicable edition in the contract. |
| Related substances including p-aminophenol | % / ppm | Use the applicable monograph and agreement. | Request the method and limit of quantification. Report each specified analyte individually. |
| Particle size | µm | Agree for the formulation process. | Agree dry or wet dispersion and report particle-size percentiles. |
When approving a sample, record the grade, methods, limits and specification revision. On receipt, match the packing lot number to the lot-specific COA and record the measured values and release decision.
Chemical identity
| Database entry | Molecular or composition formula | Molar mass |
|---|---|---|
| Acetaminophen | C8H9NO2 | 151.16 g/mol |
The values refer to the compound indicated. Confirm hydrate form, solution concentration and blend composition for the commercial grade.
From samples to commercial delivery
Packaging and receiving
ENVO lists 25 kg packs. Confirm primary packaging, product-contact layer declaration, seal and retest date in the contract.
Storage and handling
For multiple packs in one lot, check each against the manufacturing lot, release report and transport record. Assess changes of site or size grade separately.
Sample and order lead times
State quantity and document-review milestones for R&D, validation and commercial batches. Confirm MOQ, quality release, dispatch and remaining time to retest at receipt.
Questions from the plant
Why can flow or dissolution change while chemical assay is similar?
Request manufacturing-site and lot information. Follow the established formulation validation procedure.
Can qualification of a new particle grade be waived based on assay alone?
Separate raw-material release from process suitability. Measure size under matched dispersion conditions and compare blending, tablet formation and dissolution.
Report a delivery or batch issue
Include the order number, lot number from the package, label photos and inspection records for the affected lot. When retesting, check pharmacopoeial edition, Related substances, particle size and crystal properties.
Request documents for your application
