Drip fertigation for chloride-tolerant crops
For the target crop and water source, calculate chloride and K₂O. Monitor stock solution conductivity.
Crystal and fine powder selection
At the intended water temperature and feeding interval, compare dissolution, filter residue and crystallization.
Purchase specifications and incoming inspection
Review these properties for the intended application grade. Example figures refer to the cited grade or source. Confirm the offered specification, packaging and lead time in the quotation. ICL Nova Ferti-K · Water-soluble K₂O and intended crops ↗
| Property | Unit | Published or agreed specification | Test conditions and checks |
|---|---|---|---|
| Water-soluble potassium (as K₂O) | % by mass | ICL Nova Ferti-K commercial example: 61% water-soluble K₂O. | Express as water-soluble K₂O equivalent. Convert elemental K to the same basis before comparison. |
| Chloride ion | % by mass | Confirm for the proposed grade and project | Request the measured Cl⁻ result and method. Calculate chloride from source water and other raw materials separately. |
| Water-insoluble matter | % by mass | Confirm for the proposed grade and project | Agree water temperature, sample-to-water ratio, filter medium and the drying and weighing procedure. Test compatibility separately with site water. |
When approving a sample, record the grade, methods, limits and specification revision. On receipt, match the packing lot number to the lot-specific COA and record the measured values and release decision.
From samples to commercial delivery
Packaging and receiving
Mark water-soluble use and nutrient reporting basis on the packaging. Confirm anticaking additives.
Storage and handling
Keep sealed and moisture-protected. Distinguish coarse grit and foreign material from soluble crystal lumps before acceptance.
Sample and order lead times
State trial use, application season and latest warehouse receipt. Confirm MOQ, dispatch point and expected arrival for samples, initial orders and peak-season replenishment.
Questions from the plant
Is matching potassium sufficient when replacing the material with potassium sulphate?
Recalculate chloride, sulphur and electrical conductivity. Verify for the target crop.
Can filtration testing be omitted for a product labelled water-soluble?
Use actual source water and the equipment screen. Measure residue and crystallisation and retain the test conditions.
Report a delivery or batch issue
Include the order number, lot number from the package, label photos and inspection records for the affected lot. When retesting, check Water-soluble potassium (as K₂O), Chloride ion, Water-insoluble matter.
