01 / Applications and trials

Plan a trial for your application

Cold-process thickening

Take timed samples between feeding and filling to verify whether hydration finishes within the actual process window.

Short-cycle mixing

Measure viscosity at intervals during the available mixing time. Record sieve residue and compare particle grades.

02 / Quality and acceptance

Purchase specifications and incoming inspection

Include the intended grade or current specification in the enquiry. Use the table to compare selection criteria and inspection conditions. The specification agreed by both parties defines the contractual limits. ENVO product listing · Name and catalogue reference ↗

Property Unit Published or agreed specification Test conditions and checks
Hydration time min Agree against the production cycle time. Use the same powder-to-water ratio, temperature and shear, and use the target viscosity as the endpoint.
Viscosity under specified conditions mPa·s Request the grade-specific range Fix solution concentration, temperature, hydration time, instrument and rotational speed.
Particle size distribution µm or % sieve residue Specify for the feed system State sieve opening and percentage passing. For fine or agglomerated material, specify dispersion and sieving procedures.

When approving a sample, record the grade, methods, limits and specification revision. On receipt, match the packing lot number to the lot-specific COA and record the measured values and release decision.

03 / Packaging and delivery

From samples to commercial delivery

Packaging and receiving

Request photographs of the proposed inner bag or container, unit weight and closure. Match the lot on the inner and outer packs.

Storage and handling

On receipt record particle size, caking and closure. Seal a retained sample for hydration comparisons.

Sample and order lead times

State food category, sales market, pilot quantity and required arrival date. Confirm MOQ, batch documents, availability and remaining shelf life separately for samples and commercial orders.

04 / Troubleshooting

Questions from the plant

Why does guar reach the final viscosity but fail to hydrate in time on the line?

Sample between powder addition and filling to establish whether hydration finishes within the available process time.

Are coarse particles or surface lumps preventing dispersion?

Open the sieve residue and check for a dry core. Compare wetting time and final viscosity for premixed and directly added samples.

Report a delivery or batch issue

Include the order number, lot number from the package, label photos and inspection records for the affected lot. When retesting, check hydration rate, viscosity measurement time, Particle size.
