Sweetener identity review
Check that label, SDS and COA identify the same ingredient. Then compare sweetness profiles in blends.
Sweetener blend trials
Verify chemical name and salt form, then compare sweetness and aftertaste in a blinded trial at equal active content.
| Form or grade | Suitability and verification |
|---|---|
| Acesulfame potassium | Verify the official chemical name, potassium salt identity and analytical documents. |
| Unspecified identity or salt form | Identify the material from its label and COA before applying data for the potassium salt. |
Purchase specifications and incoming inspection
Include the intended grade or current specification in the enquiry. Use the table to compare selection criteria and inspection conditions. The specification agreed by both parties defines the contractual limits. ENVO product listing · Name and catalogue reference ↗
| Property | Unit | Published or agreed specification | Test conditions and checks |
|---|---|---|---|
| Salt form and identification | Identification result | Request potassium salt identification and verification records. | The label, COA and specification must agree for the same lot. |
| Principal component assay | % by mass | Request the grade specification and lot result | Identify the analyte, dry or as-received basis and method. Do not substitute a theoretical conversion for an incoming release result. |
| End-use and label review | Documentation | Review by product category and destination market. | Check uses, restrictions and labelling under the relevant jurisdiction’s current rules. Link the review record to the formula version. |
When approving a sample, record the grade, methods, limits and specification revision. On receipt, match the packing lot number to the lot-specific COA and record the measured values and release decision.
From samples to commercial delivery
Packaging and receiving
Match the container label to the recognised chemical name and salt form, then request sample and commercial packaging photographs.
Storage and handling
Require the same formal name and salt designation on inner and outer sample packs. An English abbreviation alone is insufficient.
Sample and order lead times
State food category, sales market, pilot quantity and required arrival date. Confirm MOQ, batch documents, availability and remaining shelf life separately for samples and commercial orders.
Questions from the plant
What if the historical English spelling does not identify the sweetener?
Match names on the label, SDS and COA before comparing sweetness profiles in blends.
How can we avoid quoting the wrong product from a brand abbreviation?
Provide the earlier bag label, product code and retained sample. Confirm the salt form before specifying the trial sample.
Report a delivery or batch issue
Include the order number, lot number from the package, label photos and inspection records for the affected lot. When retesting, check formal chemical name, salt form, assay and identification tests.
Request documents for your application
TDS · Technical data sheet
For grade selection and sample approval, specify the grade and revision required.
SDS · Safety data sheet
Specify the country or region of use and the required language.
COA · Certificate of analysis
Request a sample COA during supplier review. For incoming inspection, provide the actual lot number.
