Can solution color establish copper concentration?
Color intensity does not quantify available copper. Equal elemental copper additions from two sources can still behave differently in the actual mixed stock.
Prepare single-source and blended controls at equal copper
Prepare equal-copper single solutions and then blends in the same water, pH and nutrient matrix. Record standing and filtration results separately. Retain original and mixed liquids for investigating precipitation.
Can copper sulphate replace the chelate in the stock at equal copper?
Compare ligand, ionic background and compatibility at actual pH. Concentrated micronutrient formulations: Calculate from measured elemental copper. Compare solution stability after introducing the other chelated metals. Low-dose additions to nutrient solutions: Verify equipment delivery and final copper concentration using a stock of confirmed concentration.
Checking Water-soluble copper and Chelated copper
Water-soluble copper (% by mass): State total Cu or water-soluble Cu and the sampling basis. Use elemental copper results rather than total copper salt mass. Chelated copper (% by mass or % of element chelated): State whether the denominator is total product or water-soluble metal. Identify the ligand and selective analytical method. Water-insoluble matter (% by mass): Agree water temperature, sample-to-water ratio, filter medium and the drying and weighing procedure. Test compatibility separately with site water.
