Set up the comparison
Use the same carrier, charging sequence and mixing conditions. Sample separate discharge positions and retain each result with its location.
Measurements to record
Elemental copper (mg/g). Calculate from the measured copper result. An incorrectly named element cannot support copper release. Particle size distribution (µm or % sieve residue). State sieve opening and percentage passing. For fine or agglomerated material, specify dispersion and sieving procedures. Record the sample ID and method revision for repeat testing.
Interpreting the results
A mean copper result can hide segregation of a low-dose ingredient. Compare the spread of elemental copper results before changing the addition rate.
