Trial design and interpretation

Confirm whether ppm is a mass ratio or another basis and check the quantification limit and reporting convention. If one report gives a less-than result and another a measured value, preserve the original qualifiers and apply the contract criteria.

Recording Principal component purity

Principal component purity (%): Winigen WM-SOL-DEC third-party example ≥99.99 wt%. List water and acidity separately. Obtain the proposed specification and batch COA for review. Moisture (ppm): Winigen WM-SOL-DEC third-party example ≤30 ppm. Request an independently measured water result and the sampling record.

Both moisture reports show 10 ppm. Do they meet the requirement?

Distinguish detection limit, measured value and contractual maximum. Check the method, sample condition and whether the result includes a less-than sign. Mixed carbonate electrolyte solvents: Check DEC, alcohols and moisture using the customer’s method. Compare performance in the same formulation.

What to record

  • ppm basis
  • Reporting qualifier
