Set up the comparison

Record the size distributions of taurine and carrier, mixing time and unloading sequence. Retain early, middle and late samples separately.

Measurements to record

Solution clarity and color (Visual assessment or agreed color value). Agree solution concentration, temperature, observation time and reference conditions before testing. Particle size distribution (µm or % sieve residue). State sieve opening and percentage passing. For fine or agglomerated material, specify dispersion and sieving procedures. Record the sample ID and method revision for repeat testing.

Interpreting the results

If one discharge fraction differs, investigate particle segregation and sampling before treating the result as a whole-lot deviation.

What to record

  • Particle size
  • Mixing time
  • Discharge fraction
  • Assay result
  • Follow-up check
