When approving a sample, record the grade, methods, limits and specification revision. On receipt, match the packing lot number to the lot-specific COA and record the measured values and release decision.
From samples to commercial delivery
Packaging and receiving
Mark anhydrous grade and net weight on moisture-resistant bags to distinguish them from hydrated salts.
Storage and handling
Sieve samples from each delivery lot and check hard lumps. Confirm unloading requirements for pallets and loose bags.
Sample and order lead times
State the concentration or hydrate, initial net quantity, destination and unloading method. Confirm minimum order, pallet or truckload quantity, dispatch point and arrival date separately.
Questions from the plant
Why does equal salt weight produce a different depth of shade?
Correct for effective salt and moisture, then check water quality and liquor ratio.
What causes specks on pale fabric?
Check insolubles and iron in the salt, as well as residues in the dissolving tank and pipework.
Report a delivery or batch issue
Include the order number, lot number from the package, label photos and inspection records for the affected lot. When retesting, check Sodium sulfate assay, Iron, Water-insoluble matter.
