Carrier-based powder premixes
Compare cost by as-received choline chloride. Check carrier, flow and caking.
Liquid metering evaluation
Request concentration and density. Verify pump delivery at target temperature and calculate water introduced.
Purchase specifications and incoming inspection
Review these properties when selecting and inspecting incoming material. Example figures refer to the cited grade or source. Confirm the offered specification, packaging and lead time in the quotation. EFSA · Choline chloride feed assessment ↗
| Property | Unit | Published or agreed specification | Test conditions and checks |
|---|---|---|---|
| Choline chloride assay | % by mass | Confirm for the proposed grade and project | Request assay on an as-received or dry basis. Specify the analytical method and purity conversion basis. |
| Carrier or moisture | Ingredient declaration / % by mass | Confirm for the proposed grade and project | Specify carrier and active-ingredient basis. Assess powder, liquid and protected forms separately. |
| Mixing uniformity | Relative standard deviation (%) | Confirm for the proposed grade and project | Agree sampling points and sample count. Test both the target component in the mixture and the variation across samples. |
When approving a sample, record the grade, methods, limits and specification revision. On receipt, match the packing lot number to the lot-specific COA and record the measured values and release decision.
From samples to commercial delivery
Packaging and receiving
Confirm a moisture barrier for powder. For liquid check drum or IBC closure and net weight.
Storage and handling
Control moisture uptake as specified. Inspect seals on liquids and check storage requirements separately for protected grades.
Sample and order lead times
State premix or pelleting trial size, replenishment quantity and receiving warehouse. Confirm MOQ, preparation time and plant arrival separately for samples, pallets and split orders.
Questions from the plant
Why are two offers marked 60% not necessarily interchangeable?
Check the active basis, carrier and whether the material is protected. Then assess its nutritional use.
What if the powder loses flow after opening?
Record humidity, open time and carrier. Review the pack seal and whether smaller packs are needed.
Report a delivery or batch issue
Include the order number, lot number from the package, label photos and inspection records for the affected lot. When retesting, check Choline chloride assay, Carrier or moisture, Mixing uniformity.
