Single-vitamin premixes
Calculate the active dose from lot-specific vitamin D₃ potency in IU/g. Check uniformity at low inclusion.
Heat processing of pelleted feed
Use an identical conditioning cycle. Measure D₃ before and after pelleting and monitor changes in retained storage samples.
Purchase specifications and incoming inspection
Review these properties for the intended application grade. Example figures refer to the cited grade or source. Confirm the offered specification, packaging and lead time in the quotation. dsm-firmenich ROVIMIX D3-500 · Feed vitamin D₃ potency example ↗

From samples to commercial delivery
Packaging and receiving
Confirm sealed light-resistant packaging and unit net weight. Distinguish single D₃ products from blends on the label.
Storage and handling
Confirm temperature, humidity and period of use after opening for the grade. Account for heat exposure when evaluating potency.
Sample and order lead times
State premix or pelleting trial size, replenishment quantity and receiving warehouse. Confirm MOQ, preparation time and plant arrival separately for samples, pallets and split orders.
Questions from the plant
Can D₂, D₃ and hydroxylated derivatives use one analytical report?
Match chemical identity to the relevant test and review feed-use documentation for the target animal.
How should the two potency figures on an A/D₃ premix be used?
Calculate A and D₃ separately. Adding the two values does not give D₃ potency.
Report a delivery or batch issue
Include the order number, lot number from the package, label photos and inspection records for the affected lot. When retesting, check Vitamin D₃ potency, Carrier composition, Retention after processing.
