01 / Applications and trials

Plan a trial for your application

Foam stabilization in wash products

At the same anionic surfactant, water and active ratio, compare foaming, foam stability and rheology.

Low-temperature clarity in cleaners

Retain samples at the intended low temperature. Check turbidity or precipitation, then record reversibility on warming.

02 / Quality and acceptance

Purchase specifications and incoming inspection

Include the intended grade or current specification in the enquiry. Use the table to compare selection criteria and inspection conditions. The specification agreed by both parties defines the contractual limits. BASF · Dehyton PK 45/MB product information ↗

Property Unit Published or agreed specification Test conditions and checks
Surfactant active content % by mass BASF Dehyton PK 45/MB: nominal value, 45. Distinguish the specific grade from other CAPB liquids. Agree methods for active matter, solids and salt when approving samples.
Sodium chloride % by mass Agree for the offered grade. Record both added salt and salt introduced with raw materials. Compare at equal total salt in the finished formula.
Free amine impurities mg/kg Agree the documentation needed for the buyer’s end use. State analyte, quantification limit and method. Total amine value is not a substitute.

When approving a sample, record the grade, methods, limits and specification revision. On receipt, match the packing lot number to the lot-specific COA and record the measured values and release decision.

03 / Packaging and delivery

From samples to commercial delivery

Packaging and receiving

Specify active matter and salt content for CAPB solution, and confirm drum or IBC net weight and seal.

Storage and handling

Ask the supplier for relevant residual amine and impurity data for the actual grade and lot.

Sample and order lead times

Compare quotations by active matter, as-supplied net weight and packaging. State destination and receiving facilities and request MOQ, sample dispatch and commercial arrival dates.

04 / Troubleshooting

Questions from the plant

Can salt from a new CAPB source alter formula viscosity?

Add equal active matter to the reference formula. Compare salt curves and the required impurity limits.

Why do CAPB grades with similar solids respond differently to added salt?

Distinguish active matter from total solids, including inorganic salts. Plot salt curves at the same surfactant ratio.

Report a delivery or batch issue

Include the order number, lot number from the package, label photos and inspection records for the affected lot. When retesting, check Active matter, Sodium chloride, residual amidoamine and DMAPA.
