Alkaline cleaning formulations
At equal hardness, surfactant composition and temperature, evaluate soil removal, clarity and final pH.
Process water for textile dyeing
Use actual process water and dyes to compare shade uniformity and metal interference.
Purchase specifications and incoming inspection
Include the intended grade or current specification in the enquiry. Use the table to compare selection criteria and inspection conditions. The specification agreed by both parties defines the contractual limits. ENVO public product information · Verify against the ordered grade and lot ↗
| Property | Unit | Published or agreed specification | Test conditions and checks |
|---|---|---|---|
| Solution pH | Dimensionless | ENVO published solid-grade specification: 10.5–11.5. | Test a 1% solution at 25 °C. Review results obtained under different conditions separately. |
| NTA impurity | Mass fraction | ENVO published tetrasodium powder ≤0.1% | Request the method and limit of quantification. |
| Chloride | Mass fraction | ENVO published tetrasodium powder ≤1.0% | State on the order whether the result is expressed as chloride ion or as salt. |
When approving a sample, record the grade, methods, limits and specification revision. On receipt, match the packing lot number to the lot-specific COA and record the measured values and release decision.

| Edetate Sodium | C10H12N2Na4O8 | 380.17 g/mol |
The values refer to the compound indicated. Confirm hydrate form, solution concentration and blend composition for the commercial grade.
From samples to commercial delivery
Packaging and receiving
ENVO lists solid material in 25 kg bags. Receive tetrasodium and disodium salts as distinct products.
Storage and handling
Check the hydrate as supplied and the COA assay basis. Recalculate the dose before using another salt on the same metering equipment.
Sample and order lead times
State treatment scale, trial quantity and acceptable packaging. Request minimum quantities, preparation times and arrival dates for lab samples, pilot lots and routine replenishment.

The reference label reads EDTA-4Na. Match tetrasodium salt, form and lot to the COA.
Questions from the plant
Why did the formulation pH change after switching from disodium to tetrasodium EDTA?
Compare at equal metal-ion loading and record final pH and clarity separately.
Why do two laboratories report different pH for the tetrasodium salt?
Check sample concentration, temperature, water quality and calibration. Retest under the specification conditions.
Report a delivery or batch issue
Include the order number, lot number from the package, label photos and inspection records for the affected lot. When retesting, check salt and hydration state, chelating capacity, Solution pH.
