GOS content (% on a dry basis)
The public catalogue distinguishes grades including 57% and 70%.
01 / Applications and trials

Plan a trial for your application

Sugar profile in dairy formulations

Compare lots using one analytical method. Ask for source and allergen documentation.

Powder-to-syrup substitution

Normalize to dry GOS first. Compare residual lactose, glucose and water introduced to the formula.

02 / Quality and acceptance

Purchase specifications and incoming inspection

Include the intended grade or current specification in the enquiry. Use the table to compare selection criteria and inspection conditions. The specification agreed by both parties defines the contractual limits. ENVO · Galacto-oligosaccharides product information ↗

Property Unit Published or agreed specification Test conditions and checks
GOS content % on a dry basis The public catalogue distinguishes grades including 57% and 70%. Identify the powder or syrup grade and the chromatographic peaks included in integration.
Total solids % by mass Request an as-received measurement Record sampling temperature and analytical method. Verify any conversion from refractometer readings.
Syrup dry matter % by mass ENVO syrup example: 74.0–76.0%. Compare the two catalogue syrup grades, 57 and 70. Use the measured moisture content for powders.

When approving a sample, record the grade, methods, limits and specification revision. On receipt, match the packing lot number to the lot-specific COA and record the measured values and release decision.

03 / Packaging and delivery

From samples to commercial delivery

Packaging and receiving

Record net mass and solids for syrup, or bag net weight and moisture for powder. Use form-specific receiving records.

Storage and handling

Order powder and syrup separately. Check dry matter, net weight and origin declaration; for liquid also check closure and receiving tank.

Sample and order lead times

State food category, sales market, pilot quantity and required arrival date. Confirm MOQ, batch documents, availability and remaining shelf life separately for samples and commercial orders.

04 / Troubleshooting

Questions from the plant

How can we check both target oligosaccharides and the actual sugar contribution?

Compare batches using the same analytical method. Request raw-material origin and allergen documentation.

Is the name GOS sufficient for allergen review?

Obtain source, milk constituent and cross-contact declarations from the supplier. Link them to the lot submitted for approval.

Report a delivery or batch issue

Include the order number, lot number from the package, label photos and inspection records for the affected lot. When retesting, check GOS assay method, lactose and monosaccharides, dry matter.
