Film-forming resins and curing / ENVO-A046

Polyamide curing agents for epoxy resins

Product family

The mix ratio for a polyamide epoxy hardener depends on active hydrogen equivalent weight. Batch size and temperature also affect working time.

01 / Applications and trials

Plan a trial for your application

Protective epoxy coatings

Using the same resin and dry film thickness, compare adhesion, surface drying and water resistance.

Epoxy repair bonding

Fix the substrate and mixed batch size. Record pot life and peel behavior after cure.

02 / Quality and acceptance

Purchase specifications and incoming inspection

Use these properties to compare grades within the product family. Example figures refer to the cited grade or source. Confirm the offered specification, packaging and lead time in the quotation. Evonik Ancamide 350A · Liquid polyamide epoxy hardener ↗

When approving a sample, record the grade, methods, limits and specification revision. On receipt, match the packing lot number to the lot-specific COA and record the measured values and release decision.

03 / Packaging and delivery

From samples to commercial delivery

Packaging and receiving

Specify sealed liquid drums and distinguish neat material from solution.

Storage and handling

Record the corresponding epoxy equivalent weight, hardener version and batch label on the order.

Sample and order lead times

State processing equipment, trial batch size and monthly demand. Confirm same-grade samples, first-order MOQ, staged deliveries and arrival date.

04 / Troubleshooting

Questions from the plant

Why did the coating remain tacky after changing hardener?

Recalculate the ratio from epoxy and active hydrogen equivalents, then check cure temperature and humidity.

Why does a large batch gel earlier than a cup with a one-hour pot life?

Record mix quantity and material temperature. Retest pot life against the supplier’s stated conditions.

Report a delivery or batch issue

Include the order number, lot number from the package, label photos and inspection records for the affected lot. When retesting, check Active hydrogen equivalent weight, Amine value, Pot life.
