Mold control in acidic formulations
Compare storage and microbiological results in finished-process samples. Verify destination-market requirements.
Stability of liquid additions
Use the actual process water and temperature. Check color and precipitation during storage and after cooling.
Purchase specifications and incoming inspection
Include the intended grade or current specification in the enquiry. Use the table to compare selection criteria and inspection conditions. The specification agreed by both parties defines the contractual limits. ENVO · Potassium sorbate product information ↗
| Property | Unit | Published or agreed specification | Test conditions and checks |
|---|---|---|---|
| Potassium sorbate assay | % by mass | ENVO published specification 99.0–101.0% | Confirm the reporting basis for the offered grade. Evaluate finished-product pH and microbiological performance separately. |
| Loss on drying | % | ENVO published specification ≤1% | Verify test conditions and inspect the powder colour and an unopened retained sample. |
| Microbiological and retained sample testing | CFU/g or agreed test plan | Agree for the product grade | Keep raw-material microbiology and finished-product shelf-life verification separate. Specify samples, methods and incubation conditions. |
When approving a sample, record the grade, methods, limits and specification revision. On receipt, match the packing lot number to the lot-specific COA and record the measured values and release decision.
Chemical identity
| Database entry | Molecular or composition formula | Molar mass |
|---|---|---|
| Potassium Sorbate | C6H7KO2 | 150.22 g/mol |
The values refer to the compound indicated. Confirm hydrate form, solution concentration and blend composition for the commercial grade.
From samples to commercial delivery
Packaging and receiving
ENVO lists 25 kg bags or cartons. Confirm net weight, units per pallet and label revision.
Storage and handling
Specify the bag or carton liner. Record damaged packs, dampness, powder colour and consumption after opening.
Sample and order lead times
State food category, sales market, pilot quantity and required arrival date. Confirm MOQ, batch documents, availability and remaining shelf life separately for samples and commercial orders.

The reference label identifies potassium sorbate. Match the English name, bag net weight and lot to receiving documents.
Questions from the plant
Why do mould or yeast problems appear late in shelf life after an acceptable release test?
Compare packaged storage and microbiological results on production-representative samples. Check the conditions for the target market.
Can darkened stock solution still be used?
Quarantine the suspect solution under the quality procedure. Compare a freshly prepared control for concentration, colour, storage and microbiological condition.
Report a delivery or batch issue
Include the order number, lot number from the package, label photos and inspection records for the affected lot. When retesting, check Potassium sorbate assay, appearance changes on oxidation, finished-product acidity.
