01 / Applications and trials

Plan a trial for your application

Reactive dyeing of cellulose

Run a salt concentration series with the same fabric and dye.

Salt dissolution and recirculation

Measure dissolution, filter residue and holding-tank deposits.

02 / Quality and acceptance

Purchase specifications and incoming inspection

Review these properties when selecting and inspecting incoming material. Example figures refer to the cited grade or source. Confirm the offered specification, packaging and lead time in the quotation. K+S · Industrial salt for dyeing and finishing ↗

Property Unit Published or agreed specification Test conditions and checks
Sodium chloride assay % by mass Agree for the grade and end use State dry or as-received basis.
Calcium and magnesium impurities mg/kg Agree for the grade and end use State whether the result is an individual concentration or a hardness equivalent.
Water-insoluble matter % by mass Agree for the grade and end use Keep sample mass, water temperature and filter material constant.

When approving a sample, record the grade, methods, limits and specification revision. On receipt, match the packing lot number to the lot-specific COA and record the measured values and release decision.

03 / Packaging and delivery

From samples to commercial delivery

Packaging and receiving

Specify industrial grade, net weight and lot. Ask whether an anticaking additive is present.

Storage and handling

Agree packaging and moisture protection for destination humidity. Retain a sample for comparison in solution preparation.

Sample and order lead times

State the concentration or hydrate, initial net quantity, destination and unloading method. Confirm minimum order, pallet or truckload quantity, dispatch point and arrival date separately.

04 / Troubleshooting

Questions from the plant

Can sodium sulphate be substituted at equal weight?

The salts differ in composition and ionic effects. Trial each in the applicable dyeing process.

Why does shade differ at the same salt dose?

Check salt impurities, water hardness and the salt addition profile in addition to main salt assay.

Report a delivery or batch issue

Include the order number, lot number from the package, label photos and inspection records for the affected lot. When retesting, check Sodium chloride assay, Calcium and magnesium impurities, Water-insoluble matter.
