01 / Applications and trials

Plan a trial for your application

Reinforcement in compounded plastics

Hold resin, filler loading and molding direction constant. Compare flexural modulus, warpage and surface quality.

Coating extender pigments

Make panels at equal filler volume. Compare fineness, matting, settling resistance and application feel.

02 / Quality and acceptance

Purchase specifications and incoming inspection

Include the intended grade or current specification in the enquiry. Use the table to compare selection criteria and inspection conditions. The specification agreed by both parties defines the contractual limits. ENVO · Talc powder catalogue and specifications ↗

Property Unit Published or agreed specification Test conditions and checks
Moisture % by mass ENVO published HR8115, HR8318, HR8421, HR8519 all list ≤0.5 Check the COA for the actual grade and confirm drying temperature and duration.
Particle size µm ENVO HR8519 listing: 10. The listing does not identify a percentile. Obtain the full particle-size distribution before sample approval.
Iron oxide content % by mass ENVO HR8519 listing: 0.5. Use for comparing mineral sources. Assess appearance separately on a finished-part colour sample.

When approving a sample, record the grade, methods, limits and specification revision. On receipt, match the packing lot number to the lot-specific COA and record the measured values and release decision.

03 / Packaging and delivery

From samples to commercial delivery

Packaging and receiving

The catalogue lists 25 kg and 1,000 kg bags. Verify that unloading and dust collection equipment can handle the pack.

Storage and handling

Separate lots by mineral source and size grade. Request the size distribution and application-specific mineral impurity tests.

Sample and order lead times

Specify colour code, surface treatment or filler grade and whether a single lot is required. Confirm trial quantity, MOQ, retention across lots and arrival.

04 / Troubleshooting

Questions from the plant

Why can similar-fineness talcs cause different part warpage?

Keep processing and cooling constant and compare warpage, shrinkage and surface defects.

Why do two “1250 mesh” talcs reinforce differently?

Request particle-size distributions, morphology and test methods. Compare in the same resin.

Report a delivery or batch issue

Include the order number, lot number from the package, label photos and inspection records for the affected lot. When retesting, check platelet diameter and thickness, Particle size distribution, mineral impurities.
