Edible fat formulations
At identical packaging, light and temperature conditions, compare oxidation indicators over time.
Storage of lipid-rich foods
Use the actual oil phase and processing heat history. Compare finished-product odor and oxidation.
Purchase specifications and incoming inspection
Use these properties to compare grades within the product family. Example figures refer to the cited grade or source. Confirm the offered specification, packaging and lead time in the quotation. BTSA Tocobiol T · Plant-derived tocopherols for food applications ↗
| Property | Unit | Published or agreed specification | Test conditions and checks |
|---|---|---|---|
| Total tocopherols | % by mass | Confirm against the offered grade and purchase specification | Confirm that results refer to the as-received product and identify the analytical method. |
| Homologue composition | Relative % or % by mass | Confirm against the offered grade and purchase specification | Distinguish α, β, γ and δ homologues and specify the denominator for each fraction and the total. |
| Carrier and form | Composition statement | Confirm against the offered grade and purchase specification | Check whether the product is oil-based, powdered or blended. |
When approving a sample, record the grade, methods, limits and specification revision. On receipt, match the packing lot number to the lot-specific COA and record the measured values and release decision.
From samples to commercial delivery
Packaging and receiving
For oily material confirm light-resistant container, closure and net weight. For powder check carrier and moisture protection separately.
Storage and handling
Record first opening and sampling times. Follow the grade TDS for light exposure and storage.
Sample and order lead times
State food category, sales market, pilot quantity and required arrival date. Confirm MOQ, batch documents, availability and remaining shelf life separately for samples and commercial orders.
Questions from the plant
Can nutritional vitamin E activity directly predict antioxidant performance?
Assess the nutritional basis separately and compare oxidative stability in the finished lipid system.
Why can grades at equal addition rates produce different odours?
Align active fraction and carrier oil, then compare the oil phase and oxygen exposure during processing and storage.
Report a delivery or batch issue
Include the order number, lot number from the package, label photos and inspection records for the affected lot. When retesting, check Total tocopherols, Homologue composition, Carrier and form.
