01 / Applications and trials

Plan a trial for your application

Injection-molded housings

With the same mold and process, compare filling, warpage, notched impact and stiffness.

Sheet and transparent packaging

At target thickness, compare haze, forming window and seal performance.

02 / Quality and acceptance

Purchase specifications and incoming inspection

Use these properties to compare grades within the product family. Example figures refer to the cited grade or source. Confirm the offered specification, packaging and lead time in the quotation. INEOS · Polypropylene grades and applications ↗

Property Unit Published or agreed specification Test conditions and checks
Melt flow rate g/10 min Confirm against the offered grade and purchase specification Align temperature, load and method before comparing results.
Flexural modulus MPa Confirm against the offered grade and purchase specification Check specimen preparation and conditioning.
Notched impact strength kJ/m² or J/m Confirm against the offered grade and purchase specification Specify method, notch type and test temperature.

When approving a sample, record the grade, methods, limits and specification revision. On receipt, match the packing lot number to the lot-specific COA and record the measured values and release decision.

03 / Packaging and delivery

From samples to commercial delivery

Packaging and receiving

The bag label should identify homopolymer or copolymer and the grade. Check coloured particles, fines and additive declarations.

Storage and handling

Keep separate parts if masterbatch or regrind proportion changes, so that the change is not mistaken for lot variation.

Sample and order lead times

State processing equipment, trial batch size and monthly demand. Confirm same-grade samples, first-order MOQ, staged deliveries and arrival date.

04 / Troubleshooting

Questions from the plant

Will increasing melt flow index also prevent cold cracking?

Melt flow describes processing flow. Check impact at the same temperature and test the fabricated part.

Can transparent and impact grades be exchanged on density alone?

Check copolymer structure and clarity target, then trial the mould and finished part.

Report a delivery or batch issue

Include the order number, lot number from the package, label photos and inspection records for the affected lot. When retesting, check Melt flow rate, Flexural modulus, Notched impact strength.
