Fatty acid composition (% by mass or GC area %)
Confirm against the offered grade and purchase specification
01 / Applications and trials

Plan a trial for your application

Rubber activation systems

Fix zinc oxide and curatives. Compare scorch, cure speed and blooming.

Lubrication in plastics processing

Observe fusion, surface exudation and finished-part appearance.

02 / Quality and acceptance

Purchase specifications and incoming inspection

Review these properties for the intended application grade. Example figures refer to the cited grade or source. Confirm the offered specification, packaging and lead time in the quotation. KLK OLEO · Oleochemicals for polymers ↗

Property Unit Published or agreed specification Test conditions and checks
Fatty acid composition % by mass or GC area % Confirm against the offered grade and purchase specification Report C18 and C16 fractions and the reporting basis.
Acid value mg KOH/g Confirm against the offered grade and purchase specification Use the same method and distinguish free fatty acids from soap salts.
Solidification or dropping point °C Confirm against the offered grade and purchase specification Specify the method used. Different thermal properties are not interchangeable.

When approving a sample, record the grade, methods, limits and specification revision. On receipt, match the packing lot number to the lot-specific COA and record the measured values and release decision.

03 / Packaging and delivery

From samples to commercial delivery

Packaging and receiving

List beads, flakes and powder separately. Check liner, heat-related softening and unit net weight.

Storage and handling

Request raw material origin and batch tests, particularly when plant origin is required.

Sample and order lead times

State the finished part, machine trial quantity and routine order size. Match trial and commercial grades and agree MOQ, load unit, lead-time start and arrival.

04 / Troubleshooting

Questions from the plant

Does commercial stearic acid mean pure C18?

Request the fatty-acid composition profile and grade description rather than assuming chemical purity.

Why can grades of equal acid value lubricate differently?

Compare chain-length distribution, melting behaviour and exudation in the actual formulation.

Report a delivery or batch issue

Include the order number, lot number from the package, label photos and inspection records for the affected lot. When retesting, check Fatty acid composition, Acid value, Solidification or dropping point.

05 / Product documents

Request documents for your application

TDS · Technical data sheet

For grade selection and sample approval, specify the grade and revision required.
