Tire compounds
In one formulation, compare cure curves, scorch time and finished-part performance.
Continuous mixing
Within the specified processing window, compare granule dispersion, stability and lot variation.
Purchase specifications and incoming inspection
Review these properties when selecting and inspecting incoming material. Example figures refer to the cited grade or source. Confirm the offered specification, packaging and lead time in the quotation. LANXESS · CBS rubber accelerator catalogue ↗
| Property | Unit | Published or agreed specification | Test conditions and checks |
|---|---|---|---|
| CBS assay | % by mass | Confirm against the offered grade and purchase specification | Verify the analytical method and commercial form. |
| Melting point or initial melting point | °C | Confirm against the offered grade and purchase specification | Evaluate using the specified method and purity specification. |
| Sieve residue or dispersion | % or grade | Confirm against the offered grade and purchase specification | For powder, specify sieve aperture. For masterbatch, assess dispersion in the rubber compound. |
When approving a sample, record the grade, methods, limits and specification revision. On receipt, match the packing lot number to the lot-specific COA and record the measured values and release decision.
From samples to commercial delivery
Packaging and receiving
Quote powder, granules and masterbatch separately. Identify carrier and confirm suitability for automatic feeding.
Storage and handling
Keep dispatch date, storage conditions and trial samples to investigate variations in scorch behaviour.
Sample and order lead times
State the finished part, machine trial quantity and routine order size. Match trial and commercial grades and agree MOQ, load unit, lead-time start and arrival.
Questions from the plant
Can CBS and TBBS be exchanged at the same weight?
Measure scorch and optimum cure times in the same cure package. Grade names do not define an equivalent dose.
Does a higher masterbatch addition than powder mean lower efficiency?
Remove the carrier contribution and compare at equal active CBS, then assess dispersion and performance.
Report a delivery or batch issue
Include the order number, lot number from the package, label photos and inspection records for the affected lot. When retesting, check CBS assay, Melting point or initial melting point, Sieve residue or dispersion.
