01 / Applications and trials

Plan a trial for your application

Cotton bleaching auxiliaries

At actual water hardness, record whiteness, handle and deposits.

Ingredients for alkaline processes

On an active-solids basis, check liquid metering, dissolution and cleaning residue.

02 / Quality and acceptance

Purchase specifications and incoming inspection

Use these properties to compare grades within the product family. Example figures refer to the cited grade or source. Confirm the offered specification, packaging and lead time in the quotation. Tokuyama · Sodium silicate composition and commercial forms ↗

Property Unit Published or agreed specification Test conditions and checks
Silica-to-soda ratio SiO₂/Na₂O molar ratio Agree for the grade and end use State whether the ratio is molar and report the contents of both components.
Solids % by mass Agree for the grade and end use Specify the drying or chemical analysis method.
Liquid density g/cm³ Agree for the grade and end use State the temperature. For solids, check dissolution conditions separately.

When approving a sample, record the grade, methods, limits and specification revision. On receipt, match the packing lot number to the lot-specific COA and record the measured values and release decision.

03 / Packaging and delivery

From samples to commercial delivery

Packaging and receiving

Distinguish solid lumps, powder and solution. Specify net weight, silicate modulus and container material.

Storage and handling

Store sealed. For liquids agree the pumping temperature range and discharge outlet. Record sample condition before retesting.

Sample and order lead times

State the concentration or hydrate, initial net quantity, destination and unloading method. Confirm minimum order, pallet or truckload quantity, dispatch point and arrival date separately.

04 / Troubleshooting

Questions from the plant

Why do silicates with the same modulus differ in viscosity?

Check solids, temperature and storage time before comparing rheology.

Why does a deposit form on cloth or equipment?

Check hardness ions, concentration and rinsing. Include a silicate-free blank.

Report a delivery or batch issue

Include the order number, lot number from the package, label photos and inspection records for the affected lot. When retesting, check Silica-to-soda ratio, Solids, Liquid density.
