01 / Applications and trials

Plan a trial for your application

Boron stock solutions

At the lowest preparation temperature, measure dissolution and crystallization after recooling. Calculate on as-received boron.

Replacing a boron source

Compare with borax at equal elemental B input. Record pH, sodium contribution and clarity.

02 / Quality and acceptance

Purchase specifications and incoming inspection

Review these properties when selecting and inspecting incoming material. Example figures refer to the cited grade or source. Confirm the offered specification, packaging and lead time in the quotation. USDA · Technical report on soluble boron sources and hydration states ↗

Property Unit Published or agreed specification Test conditions and checks
Elemental boron % by mass Confirm for the proposed grade and project Specify B or B₂O₃ on an as-received basis and check the measured value for the actual batch separately.
Water-insoluble matter % by mass Confirm for the proposed grade and project Agree water temperature, sample-to-water ratio, filter medium and the drying and weighing procedure. Test compatibility separately with site water.
Solubility g/L Confirm for the proposed grade and project Use a common water source and temperature. Distinguish single-salt solubility from the maximum concentration of the actual mixed-salt stock solution.

When approving a sample, record the grade, methods, limits and specification revision. On receipt, match the packing lot number to the lot-specific COA and record the measured values and release decision.

03 / Packaging and delivery

From samples to commercial delivery

Packaging and receiving

Verify boric acid identity, agricultural use and moisture-resistant liner. Keep distinct from other boron salts.

Storage and handling

Review carriage against the proposed SDS and destination requirements. Keep sealed and dry and verify the lot.

Sample and order lead times

State trial use, application season and latest warehouse receipt. Confirm MOQ, dispatch point and expected arrival for samples, initial orders and peak-season replenishment.

04 / Troubleshooting

Questions from the plant

Can total boric acid mass be treated as elemental boron?

Distinguish compound assay, B and B₂O₃. Convert to a common basis before pricing.

How should crystallisation during stock solution cooling be checked?

Record water temperature, concentration and other salts. Repeat bench tests under the same cooling conditions.

Report a delivery or batch issue

Include the order number, lot number from the package, label photos and inspection records for the affected lot. When retesting, check Elemental boron, Water-insoluble matter, Solubility.
