Can two 95% ethanol quotations be compared directly?
Volume and mass fractions cannot be compared by the percentage alone. Denaturants, taxes and intended use also affect acceptable supply terms.
State reference temperature and concentration basis
Ask for the reference temperature and the kind of fraction, and check whether the ethanol is denatured. For cleaning, run blank and residue tests on one substrate. Investigate denaturants and impurities if odor differs.
Why are odour or water marks left after spraying?
Check denaturants, impurities and non-volatile residue against a substrate blank. Cleaning solvents: On the actual substrate, assess evaporation, streaks and residue. Co-solvents for fragrances or personal care: At the intended ingredient concentration and a series of temperatures, compare clarity and odor.
Checking Ethanol content and Denaturant
Ethanol content (% by mass or % by volume): State units and reference temperature. Denaturant (Composition and content): Confirm the identity and limit for each item for the specific use. Nonvolatile matter (mg/kg): Verify with the actual evaporation method and quantification limit.
