Which quote better meets a low-chloride discharge constraint?

Hydrochloric acid adds chloride even when the pH target is met. Price per tonne of commercial product conceals differences in concentration.

Check acid consumption and chloride load separately

Use the current method on a common water sample to measure acid demand to the same endpoint. Compare dose, supplied concentration, existing chloride and downstream limits together. Use density only at the corresponding temperature as a cross-check.

Can a normal density reading replace the acid assay?

Test HCl and impurities using the contractual method. Use density as a cross-check. Water treatment pH control: Use representative raw water to determine active acid demand at the same target pH. Industrial pickling: Monitor surface quality and residue on the specified substrate under the established cleaning procedure.

Checking HCl content and Iron

HCl content (% by mass): Agree on actual solution concentration and distinguish mass-based from volume-based pricing. Iron (mg/kg): Set the criterion using the colour change after cleaning and the downstream limit. Density (g/mL): Specify temperature. Use the actual lot data to convert orders placed by volume.
