Concentrated detergents
At equal active content, measure viscosity, clarity and temperature stability at several salt additions.
Foaming personal cleansers
Blend with the current amphoteric surfactant at the same active ratio. Measure foam decay and low-temperature flow.
Purchase specifications and incoming inspection
Include the intended grade or current specification in the enquiry. Use the table to compare selection criteria and inspection conditions. The specification agreed by both parties defines the contractual limits. BASF · Texapon N 70 technical information ↗
| Property | Unit | Published or agreed specification | Test conditions and checks |
|---|---|---|---|
| Active matter | % by mass | BASF Texapon N 70: third-party nominal value, approximately 70. | Agree method and range for the actual grade. Convert low-active liquid grades to the same basis for comparison. |
| Inorganic salts | % by mass | Confirm on the offered AES grade. | List sodium chloride and sulfate separately and state the reporting basis. |
| Viscosity at specified concentration | mPa·s | Specify the concentration and temperature. | Record active matter, added salt, spindle and rotational speed. |
When approving a sample, record the grade, methods, limits and specification revision. On receipt, match the packing lot number to the lot-specific COA and record the measured values and release decision.
From samples to commercial delivery
Packaging and receiving
Distinguish concentrated paste from diluted liquid. Specify net weight, outlet size and pumping conditions.
Storage and handling
Agree transit and unloading temperatures. Record viscosity and active content on receipt instead of applying settings for a dilute solution.
Sample and order lead times
Compare quotations by active matter, as-supplied net weight and packaging. State destination and receiving facilities and request MOQ, sample dispatch and commercial arrival dates.
Questions from the plant
Why does the thickening curve differ from our current material?
Keep total active matter and the other surfactants constant. Record the salt curve and low-temperature stability.
Why do two lots reach peak viscosity at different salt additions?
Check inherent salt, active concentration and EO distribution. Repeat a salt gradient using actual process water.
Report a delivery or batch issue
Include the order number, lot number from the package, label photos and inspection records for the affected lot. When retesting, check Active matter, average EO number, residual salts and related impurities.
