Sweetener blends and aftertaste
Run a blind trial at equal sweetness. Keep approved samples and their chromatographic fingerprints.
High-purity single-component comparison
Request proportions of Reb A, Reb M and other glycosides. At equal sweetness, compare onset, aftertaste and cost.
| Form or grade | Suitability and verification |
|---|---|
| Mixed steviol glycosides | Compare total glycosides and their individual proportions. Equal total glycosides can give different flavor profiles. |
| Single glycoside enrichment | Request component purity and production source. Compare in blind tests at equal sweetness. |
Purchase specifications and incoming inspection
Include the intended grade or current specification in the enquiry. Use the table to compare selection criteria and inspection conditions. The specification agreed by both parties defines the contractual limits. ENVO · Steviol Glycosides product information ↗
| Property | Unit | Published or agreed specification | Test conditions and checks |
|---|---|---|---|
| Principal glycoside composition | % on a dry basis | Request the glycoside profile and total glycosides. | Identify the chromatographic reference standard and carrier. Total glycosides do not establish the proportion of the main individual glycoside. |
| Carrier-to-active ratio | % by mass | Confirm for the proposed formulation | List carriers and proportions, the basis for active content and the corresponding test report. |
| Sensory assessment | Approved sample assessment | Agree a reference sample and acceptable difference. | Keep formulation, temperature, sample concentration and blind assessment order constant. Test alongside the approved reference. |
When approving a sample, record the grade, methods, limits and specification revision. On receipt, match the packing lot number to the lot-specific COA and record the measured values and release decision.
From samples to commercial delivery
Packaging and receiving
ENVO lists 1 kg or 25 kg bags. Confirm order-specific net weight, units per pallet and label revision.
Storage and handling
Identify grade, glycoside profile and carrier on the pack. Store high-purity grades separately.
Sample and order lead times
State food category, sales market, pilot quantity and required arrival date. Confirm MOQ, batch documents, availability and remaining shelf life separately for samples and commercial orders.
Questions from the plant
Why can products with equal total glycosides have different aftertastes?
Compare blind at matched sweetness. Retain the approved sample and its chromatographic fingerprint.
Why reassess aftertaste when total glycosides are unchanged?
Compare both chromatograms and standardising carriers. Blind-test against the retained approved formulation.
Report a delivery or batch issue
Include the order number, lot number from the package, label photos and inspection records for the affected lot. When retesting, check total glycosides, Reb A and other glycoside profile, carrier.
Request documents for your application
