Diets containing phytate
Record feedstock composition and baseline phytate phosphorus. Have the nutrition team assess the enzyme and target.
Compatibility with pelleting
Measure activity before and after conditioning. Fix temperature, humidity, residence time and sampling procedure.
Purchase specifications and incoming inspection
Use these properties to compare grades within the product family. Example figures refer to the cited grade or source. Confirm the offered specification, packaging and lead time in the quotation. BASF Natuphos E · Phytase forms and FTU declaration ↗
| Property | Unit | Published or agreed specification | Test conditions and checks |
|---|---|---|---|
| Phytase activity | FTU/g or contract units | Confirm for the proposed grade and project | Specify the phytate substrate, pH, temperature and the unit defined by phosphorus release. Align differing assays before comparison. |
| Retention after processing | % | Confirm for the proposed grade and project | Measure activity before and after processing by the same method and correct for moisture. Record temperature, residence time and cooling conditions. |
| Preparation form | Ingredient declaration / % by mass | Confirm for the proposed grade and project | Specify carrier and active-ingredient basis. Assess powder, liquid and protected forms separately. |
When approving a sample, record the grade, methods, limits and specification revision. On receipt, match the packing lot number to the lot-specific COA and record the measured values and release decision.
From samples to commercial delivery
Packaging and receiving
Agree container, net weight and temperature separately for powder, granules and liquid. Request batch enzyme activity.
Storage and handling
Check arrival against the preparation’s storage temperature and expiry. Record heat exposure in transit and retain a retest sample.
Sample and order lead times
State premix or pelleting trial size, replenishment quantity and receiving warehouse. Confirm MOQ, preparation time and plant arrival separately for samples, pallets and split orders.
Questions from the plant
Can enzyme preparations be compared by weight alone?
First align substrate, pH, temperature, time and unit definition. Compare delivered cost per unit of activity.
How should we choose powder, granules or a post-spray liquid?
Compare measured retained activity against pelleting temperature, post-spray equipment and mixing uniformity.
Report a delivery or batch issue
Include the order number, lot number from the package, label photos and inspection records for the affected lot. When retesting, check Phytase activity, Retention after processing, Preparation form.
