When approving a sample, record the grade, methods, limits and specification revision. On receipt, match the packing lot number to the lot-specific COA and record the measured values and release decision.
From samples to commercial delivery
Packaging and receiving
For solid material confirm granules or powder, net weight and moisture protection. For liquid quotations specify solvent or salt form.
Storage and handling
Keep metal grade, coupon condition and water samples on record to investigate differences between lots.
Sample and order lead times
State treatment scale, trial quantity and acceptable packaging. Request minimum quantities, preparation times and arrival dates for lab samples, pilot lots and routine replenishment.
Questions from the plant
What if two SDS documents list different ingredients under the same BTA name?
Identify the free form, sodium salt or formulated product and confirm compatible metals.
Can coupon results be applied to every metal?
Verify with the actual copper alloy and site water. Results from a different metal do not establish protection.
Report a delivery or batch issue
Include the order number, lot number from the package, label photos and inspection records for the affected lot. When retesting, check BTA assay, Melting range, Dissolution behavior.
